Hi, I’m Clay Barnard! I’m a freelance composer and arranger, as well as a pianist and teacher. I’ve been writing music for years, and playing piano for years, allowing me the opportunity to not only write, but perform and experience my music alongside fellow performers. I graduated from Murray State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Composition. I work presently as a High School Music Teacher, and I maintain a private music studio. I also work as a pianist, playing for choirs and miscellaneous events.
In my time as a composer, I have written over 250 original pieces and arrangements. The originals include several projects, such as scores for 10 short films, 3 musicals, a song cycle, and a mass. The arrangements span several genres of music, including jazz, folk, pop, classical, movies, video games, and more.
My pieces have been selected and performed by the KC VITAs Chamber Choir in Kansas City, Missouri and the Akron Symphonic Winds in Copley, Ohio. Of the films I've worked on, six of which were for local film competitions, and for a national competition. I currently use Finale for all my notation needs, and FL Studio for electronic music and realizations.
